I have openSUSE 11, and so far my only problems are that I can't connect to the internet, and my folders freeze when I enable compizfusion.<b> I downloaded the ISO and burned it on a CD using the KD3 on Ubuntu.<b> On openSUSE 11 when I try to use the internet I get a message "malformed URL", and I type different URL's and get the same thing.:(

I am using 11.0 with KDE 4 and never saw this error - until today! I have been updating normally prior to this. Not sure the cause or fix - but thanks for the note that it works as root - am updating now as root!

KDE4 may be all shiny and new and full of eyecandy and whatsoever. Without KMail/KDEpim it is not ready for primetime. Or how am I expected to do my daily (email) work -centered around Kontact- on KDE4?

Sorry folks, unless there is a viable alternative (and no, Thunderbird isn't it) KDE4 is nothing more than a technology study.

You really need to get some idea of what you're talking about, instead of just spreading useless FUD. Read http://opensuse.org/FAQ:Novell-MS

KDE 4 one click install starts dependency HELL for me; see below:

I'm on opensuse 10.3 x86_64. No matter how many respositories I enable; This is really screwed up.

amarok has missing dependencies
    There are no installable providers of libkonqsidebarplugin.so.1()(64bit) for amarok-1.4.9.1-100.pm.1.x86_64
    === amarok-1.4.9.1-100.pm.1.x86_64 ===
        kdebase3-3.5.7-87.2.x86_64[openSUSE-10.3-Updates] provides libkonqsidebarplugin.so.1()(64bit), but it is uninstallable. Try installing it on its own for more details.
        kdebase3-3.5.7-87.5.x86_64 provides libkonqsidebarplugin.so.1()(64bit), but is scheduled to be uninstalled.
        amarok-1.4.9.1-100.pm.1.x86_64 depends on kdebase3
        amarok-1.4.9.1-100.pm.1.x86_64 is lacking the requirement libkonqsidebarplugin.so.1()(64bit)
    (null)
    Conflict Resolution:
        ( ) delete amarok
        ( ) Ignore this requirement just here
baghira has missing dependencies

        kdebase3-3.5.7-87.5.x86_64 provides kdebase3 == 3.5.7-87.5, but is scheduled to be uninstalled.
