Yeah, but the difference is that Windows says “It does not function because it is broken” and the most *nixes say “It does not function, see the logfile for details”.

PS. Maybe a good theme song for user support would be Creed’s “Higher” from Human Clay. I’m listening to it and it seems rather appropriate!!! I couldn’t imagine a world now without online user support from the Linux community.

A little bashing at Windoze in a Linux forum is totally justified! After all, linux users must at least be satisfied with the OS and make informed judgement or comparision to express their opinion. It would be sensible for linux supporters to “bash” windoze and conversely, windoze fans to “bash” linuz. To put it simply, don’t expect linux users in linux forum to praise windoze and windoze forum users (if there is any forum at all) to praise linuz. I’m new to linuz and my first linuz experience is only a few months ago (openSUSE 10.3) and I love it. From there on, I tried other favours and never looked back – I love linux. Mind you I have been a DOS user (since 1980s) and have even used the Amiga OS called the workbench. It was an OS beyond its time and did’nt make it to the big time. The less superior (or should I say inferior) DOS and later windoze become a “best seller” by default due to cheap PC while the Apple/MAC camp was too arrogant and expensive for the masses. In short, MS bashing in linux forum is justified.

@ anon: the only reason why i took that screenie, and posted it, is that i personally found it hilarious, because of the word “catastrophic”, referred to a simple copy failure. We ALL know well that no OS exists without crashes. And no Linux user exists, not even an “immature” one, that switched to Linux in order to stop seeing Windows error popups.
But some Linux users may (or may not) find the error message of Windows funny, and Windows users may find funny the black screens and error messages of Linux.
So, anon, leave everyone their own little fun. It does not harm or offend anyone. Just think about all the little jokes or pics about Windows that often make Linux users smile.. It is nothing more immature than any other type of jokes around.

whose complaining, are you unable to read and comprehend?. simply pointing out that to show a crash on windows and the constant windows bashing idiots like this lady make are false, there are many crashes in linux, in stable and unstable applications.

gee, another linux user bashing windows with a picture of a windows error. God I get sick of that, as a linux user I find it immature. It’s not as though linux applications don’t crash otherwise there would be no need for reporting bugs. I had plasma crashing last week, made my linux unusable. Should I go into windows groups and post that to show them why not to use linux?
