Hmz, now I am kind of curious about the implementation of the openFate feature and how it’s gonna work, now and in the future. I wonder though there are currently no facilities for it in standard model openSuSE 11.1 so it will be added by upgrade and worked out and improved in later releases?

To play the multi-media formats, you need to add some community repositories, and packages to get the codecs openSUSE cannot distribute. Best to google, or ask in the forum about getting multi-media going.

No, you don’t need to worry about virus. It’s not only possible to play avi and divx, but any other video you might want to play! I personally recommend smplayer (in the ‘packman’ repo). It plays ANYTHING, even broken files, incomplete files, anything…

just recently decided to try the system …. was always a loyal microsoft type …. but this is nice …. it seems a lot like the Mac O/S …. wondering though … is it possible to play avi or divx …. also wondering …. viruses …. need I worry about an anti virus with OpenSuSe 11.1 ?
