GMT is based on celestial movements
UTC is based on atomic clocks.

Planets and other heavenly bodies take different amounts of time to complete their cycles as the whole is a dynamic system (for example, an "Earth year" gets longer with time as Earth drifts away from the Sun)

Atomic clocks are a more accurate way of measuring time for both short term times scales (tiny fractions of a second) and long term (multiple millennia)

Of course, time is relevant to the observer so really there is no "proper" measure of time at all ...

hello, well, i test Milestone 2, i don't know if you has solved troubles with laptop models Dell Inspiron 1525 in this new version, but anyway, i report the follows bugs:

-On Gnome first after installation finish, the system make flash my screen 1 minute and enter, but when i reboot after try start xserver flash again few seconds and sendme to login screen again. i make some test in kde and i found the almost trouble but when i active compiz-fusion with some plugings activated(close, shade, minimize, open effects)... (Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family)

-Identify my sound card but say bad driver on a ballontooltip and i have't sound (Intel(R) High Definition Audio HDMI)

-With wireless, start driver b43, but dont work, when i try use it with ndiswrapper, almost dont work on kde, in gnome ndiswrapper works (Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN Mini-Card)

-Last point, i always use a grub image for start my OS, but this time grldr dont identify partitions ext2 created for OpenSuSe Installer(ext2 is the first partition), i formated with BT2 after install without format in OpenSuSe Install, i think this maybe is for low version of grub image.

My last full version was OpenSuSe 10.3 and work good without troubles

I like this new kde desktop, its awesome...
Sorry for my bad english, i have a low level :|, (need more experience!!!)

Well, It's all...

There is somethng seriously wrong here. I installed 11.2 Milestone 3 last night with a Vista (on sda1,sda2) dual boot and it is a disaster.

(1) YAST2 will not display my keyboard setup for editing - I have the wrong one in practice but the correct one in xorg.conf
(2) It does a "fast boot" due to "BAR 2 collisions" - so what do I have on board? Is this an EXT4 thing?
(3) While it is installing there are a few wild messages saying that something is not valid to access partitions of type EXT4.
(4) It just hangs sometimes when I pull up a terminal window
(5) It also hangs for a while when I try to exit or reboot.
(6) Trying to start Vista via GRUB destroys "boot manager"

When I reinstall SUSE 11.1 on the same partitions in EXT3 - everything works - dual boot with VISTA runs smoothly.

If you guys can't even get the name right - it says Milestone 2 instead of Milestone 3 - just how are you organizing this software.

I have a Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 with Core i7 920 and 12 GBytes of DDR3 - and it installs and dual boots Windows 7 and Kubuntu just fine.

So what is going on here?

It's sad to see that gutenprint printer drivers are over 1.5 years old. In fact, they have not been updated since openSUSE 11.0.

I will not open a bug in Bugzilla for this (it would be a duplicate anyway), but maybe this blog comment helps.

I work with a large system intended to support instruction. Our releases are fixed by the academic calendar. If you want a stable product you can fix features or release date, but not both. Given a modular design and reasonable source control, you release the things that are ready.

Sorry, I am reluctant to download 11.2 to test. I have trouble enough with 11.0 gold.I hope only that the final release of 11.2 enables (1) easy shortcut creation, and (2) easy restoration of the panel/task manager to factory mode so to speak. My greatest wish is that there is an easier mechanism created sometime to install programmes.

Houston, We have a Problem. I have a triple boot system with two 300GB HDs. The first HD is broken into 3 partitions. First is for WinXP Media Center, second is for SuSE 11.2 and the third is for SuSE 11.1. I had this working with SuSE 11.2 M2 -BUT- when I installed 11.2 M3 it wiped out the home dir on my SuSE 11.1 version!! Not sure how it did that, but I do believe that something got crossed in the installation when it was looking around on my drive at all the systems. Any ideas??? I have submitted this as a bug.
