Very nice to see (would be nice to see one for the Novell Client as well) but is the Open Source iFolder still different to the OES2 iFolder and which version is Novell recommending OpenSUSE users use?

There are other free products that provide this type of functionality. Seems like this has become a crowded niche market recently, which is good for us end users since competition fosters better products. The one that I currently use is called dropbox (https://www.getdropbox.com/). I'll check out iFolder and see how it compares.

I believe iFolder was orginally an addon product for NetWare 5 and later included with NetWare 6 back in the days before Novell acquired Suse. It really is a good product and should be marketed more. OpenSuse may want to consider bundling it on the addon products repository as opposed to having to search the build service. Does iFolder support peer-to-peer yet? I thought at one point it was being worked on.

Say what? Who says Novell decided not to make money off of it? The fact that iFolder is open source and available for openSUSE does not mean Novell has decided "not to make money off of it."

iFolder is such a good project. Why didn't Novell decide to make money off of it? It is quite professional. Was there just bad marketing?

Thanks for this. I'm really happy to see iFolder again :-)

@nowei: Sorry, opera unite and iFolder have two completely different targets. Maybe you can make the effort of reading what iFolder is before commenting. iFolder is a file syncronization tool that smoothly integrates with your system and allows you to easily keep data in sync on multiple machines, with redundancy also on the server side. All with a very simple interface, and in a safe manner.

@collinm: yes, iFolder depends on mono both for the client and the server, and that's what make it easily portable. I don't know if there is something else that can allow you to do what iFolder does so easily however.
