I used to get the 'unable to mount' error message, so tried repairing the system from the installation dvd. Now Nautilus (and Dolphin) dont even display the drives at all. Installing and updating ntfs-3g makes no difference at all :-(

rei asked a question about e4defrag support in suse 11.2; What's the matter? Are you folks at suse too afraid to answer his question? It's a legitimate question, that you folks at suse should answer. Let me try to help you rei, even if the answer is a few months late. e4defrag is available from the ext4 sources, you will have to go thru a lot to compile it and associated support in the kernel get it to work, HOWEVER it is not ready for a production system and your data might get pooched it you use it. The ext4 folks are supposed to finish off the online defrag tools, but they seem to be dragging their feet on this. I think the folks at suse should provide an official statement of ext4 defragmentation support so that doubts can be put aside.

If you're still having the same problem (or for anyone else who is having it) try re-installing the ntfs-3g package. I've recently updated two of my openSUSE 11.1 machines to the last RC release of 11.2 before it went final and one wouldn't recognise NTFS partitions with the same error. I ignored it until I really needed it, re-installed the RPMs and it works fine now :)

I have the same problem - retaining an old version of the kernel does not sound like a recipe for a brave new 11.2 world. In my case it claimed this was because of the wacom kernel module, which I removed, but all that did was remove the wacom module from the list. The two "keep kernel" options still remained. Since you say this ends up with a broken X11 system I have shelved my 11.2 for now. Any ideas to get around this?

Hi,

I never used OpenSUSE before, but I can't wait for stable release to give it a try. The most exciting thing is your default DE is KDE 4 now! It brings user experience at much higher level and I'm happy, because it should get much more attention then KDE in (K)ubuntu which I'm using right now...

Regards!

I did my usual "zypper dup" and ended up with a system that says "openSUSE 11.2 RC 1 - 2.6.31.5-0.1" in the boot menu, and openSuSE 11.3 "Emerald" on the console. Where is RC2 ? :) Shall I change the repositories?
