Ladies and Gentlemen,

Please fasten your seat belts, the touch down area is in sight we do have clear view and smooth weather conditions. So we expect a smooth landing for the release of openSUSE 11.3 on July 15, 2010. Let’s polish and fine-tune openSUSE 11.3 now. Get the RC1 from our software portal right now!

As usual the most annoying bugs are listed here. But at least till release time coolo couldn’t find more then one bug in this category. Good sign towards a great release in July.

Have a lot of fun!

Camera CNF7129 does’t work (also with latest v4l). It’s detected rigth in log and by lsusb, but don’t recognazed by system.
Notebook ASUS K40IN, with 11.2 no problem.

Looks like it might have been my DVD drive. I hooked up an old CD-RW and booted off that and it was quick and comparatively painless. It did get upset about an “in-use” LVM partition that couldn’t have been in use (I didn’t mount it and I was in Live mode) and the reboot to complete the install could be smoother (everything went black while I was on my other machine, I eventually hit the reset button and booted from the disk and it did the finishing touches). Now I’m just migrating my old data across and I’ll see how it goes :)

I believe 11.3 will be grate distribution. But YaST NTP time sinchronization’s configuration should be fixed. This annoying bug is known in bugzilla, and it shoul get more attention.
    Good work and thanx!

Has anyone come up with a solution to the number 1 issue in this question? I have the same problem with an Asus M6B. It works nicely with the network manager.

  5. I have the same laptop. The wifi connection function? Have you got problem with configuration?
    Thank you in advance.

    Roman,

Did you ever install OpenSuSE 11.3 Gold on your Thinkpad T410 to see if these issues you reported were resolved? I’m considering a T410 as well and want to make sure my fave distro will work satisfactorily.
