One word: confusing!

Opensuse WAS a good software when they came out with good web support.
But it seems all over now. The web support is really poor. It's really hard to find a solution.
I wonder why you prefer current poor web interface rather than previous one.

Regards,
-Tito.

So, am I understanding correctly that you have moved all the published support pages to a new server "old-en.opensuse.org"? I have had a problem with my 11.1 version and have spend the past couple of days trying to find solutions. I found many hints, but they all point back to the SuSE Wiki, where they result in "page not found".

There used to be a wealth of information on this site, linked to from many other sites, that seems to have effectively disappeared from the face of the Web. I don't know what you were thinking, breaking I don't know how many tens of thousands of informative and useful links. I can understand you wanting to start over, but then start with "new-en.opensuse.org" or something like that, don't destroy what's already there!

I guess the damage has been done, but can you AT LEAST add something to the "page not found" to point to the old version of the page, so that coming here to look for answers have a fair chance to find it? For instance, start with a sentence like "We have re-designed our Wiki. The information you are looking for is not here, but it may be on the old Wiki. Please try ......." with the link to the corresponding old page...!!!!

Thank you for your attention.

It looks very nice, good job! However, the search engine is extremely poor. Try searching "nvidia" for example. To find a meaningful result you must type a specific string (SDB:nvidia). It is not going to be of help for new users.

Thanks for pointing out the open issue on the user pages. It looks like it was put on the back burner until we upgraded the wiki software and was forgotten. I will try this extension out on the staging site and see if it works as expected.

It is true that Export/Import is a function reserved for wiki admins. There are good reasons for and against allowing anyone to perform this function, so I will send a message on the wiki team mailing list and let them decide what is best.

Some issues:

- there is still no protection for user pages (only the owner of the username should be able to edit or create his page) --> prevent identity theft. Btw. there is still a open bug (with ) since 2008-07-16 including a proposal to solve this issue (bnc#409520).

- the Special:Import link/page is not working (Permission error: The action you have requested is limited to users in the group: Administrators.)
