Personally, I like very much Gnome3 (is what Unity had to be). Is very well prepared for the devices equipped with touch screens (try to run a classic Gnome interface with such a device - nightmare). But is good enough also for desktop (where you can place icons if you want the classic way of having shortcuts to your favorite application).

I don't see any problem in switching from an application to another by just moving fast the mouse pointer in the upper-left corner of the screen or pressing the Windows start button from the keyboard (this, regarding to multitasking).

Well, there is definitely space for improvements. When I'm switching to "Applications" tab for the first time, the responsiveness is somewhat slowed down as the computer needs time to generate the list for all existing applications:

In the right sidebar you can find the categories for "All, Accessories, Games, Graphics, etc." and the default is "All" - the biggest list from all lists possible. I would like (when I press "Applications" tab) to have displayed only the right sidebar without any selection - the displayed category will be my choice and responsiveness will not suffer (unless I chose to). Is the only thing which bothers me right now, but not too much.

After writing about the problems with GNOME and saying nothing very good about it, the author then says "In all, I feel that Gnome’s simple interface coupled up with gnome extensions is really awesome and even advanced users would like it."

This sounds more like a politically paid advertisement than a conclusion drawn from the described experience. I don't believe it.
