Microsoft claim that all Linux has at least 170 ip which fter these bills are pass they can ask to shut down any Linux distro's." The Redmond behemoth asserts that one reason free software is of such high quality is that it violates more than 200 of Microsoft's patents" (http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune_archive/2007/05/28/100033867/).
Here in Europe it is ACTA... but, one or other, they are just and only means to protect (enforce) the strong and rich against weak and poor = users.
My support for OpenSuse.

PS Bad lows in "bad" hands mean only one: someone is trying to do smth bad.
And it's coming from USA (and Japan)... coincidence? Believe that, if you want.
If "Anonymous" would have read a little about world situation and not only about US lows, he would have noticed where did it start, and who will benefit. And it is really not about taking over the world. Probably it's worse, it's about money. At every cost.

Very arrogant posts there. As a US citizen I oppose both laws and contacted my representatives about it and voiced my option. Would love to know where you two shining stars call home.

If you would have educated yourself about the law and it's intention, which was badly planned your would have known it would have impacted DNS servers located in the US and not the whole world. Please read something about what your trying to intelligently posting about. It was a bad law that was shelved, but it's comical reading this posting about how the US is trying to take over your world in your mind.

What does it have to do with the rest of the world? It is evident that USA is transforming into a totalitarian state, and our best hope is to prepare to live without USA.
Please restrict such initiatives to customers from USA that can actually do anything about it. Trying to disrupt the whole world because of their internal problems is just another example of American arrogance.

So does this mean the USA proposing SOPA is a marker that the Digital Rights Management (DRM) hype in the last decade is a complete and utter failure?

My thoughts range from this IS the 21st Century to Sledgehammer to Crack a Nut.

Perhaps the USA Entertainment Industry should formally ask the Open community to develop DRM solutions as 20th Century 'commercial' operations seem to have made a real mess of things.

Has anyone considered that SOPA may actually harm the USA Entertainment Industry too in our fragile global economy?

The human race should be focusing on sustaining our planet, preventing increase in population and increasing space exploration so we can make science fiction science fact. Everything else seems 'petty' by comparison.

Thanks OpenSuse - You have my support for this.
