Wow all the nominations are men!

Having just gone through an experience of electing a new board for a non-profit organisation, i find this somewhat disappointing.

A board needs to have serious diversity and address weaknesses and gaps in the organisation. In the tech world male chauvinism is a real problem and there needs to be more pro-active work in promoting woman and developing a culture that is welcoming to women.

Experiencing the sexualisation of Marissa Mayer in social media has highlighted to me how bad this problem has become.

It’d be great to see my favourite Distro taking a lead on this issue.

First of all, THANK YOU to the candidates for being willing to help and serve. Whomever is chosen I’m sure will do a good job. I personally know a couple of the candidates and know they would be excellent.
