Linuxtag - Day 2
Thursday, May 29th, 2008 by mlasarsSecond day on the Linuxtag, i tried to post yesterday but the Network was not working that good. Anyway, we are in Berlin!

On the first pic you see the car i have, the big blue bag is where we planed to have Zonker, but unfortunately the car was to stuffed .. So i drove alone to Berlin, Zonker took the train. The booth setup was chaos like usual, at 20:00 we where finished with no big issues. We already had a lot of visitors, and we wonder, and are happy, that there are a lot of new Linux users. Everybody is impressed about our new packagemanagement, and the other features we will have in openSUSE 11.0. So far the systems are working very well with Beta3, even KDE4 runs stable. Ok, back to the booth, more tomorrow …
More photos on my Flikr page.

Monday, May 26th, 2008 by mlasarsWell, for me and some other openSUSE guys it’s T-1, we going tomorrow to set up the booth.

(actually the picture is from last year .. :-)). So why should you come to Berlin?
If you have no chance to go to Berlin, don’t worry. We will record all Talks, i will try to have streaming video from the booth, and you will find all Talks later on our wiki. But yes, you would miss the live feeling of Linuxtag …

openSUSE Wants Your Vote (on Bugs)
Monday, May 19th, 2008 by Joe BrockmeierAttention openSUSE users and contributors! It’s time to exercise your vote and help the openSUSE team identify the bugs that need to be squashed prior to the openSUSE 11.0 release. On May 22nd, we’re having a bug voting day to help ensure we identify the most troublesome issues in Bugzilla under openSUSE 11.0.
Please join us on Thursday, May 22nd from 07:00 UTC until 19:00 UTC. Check out the voting instructions on the Bugzilla and openSUSE wiki. We’ll also have live help available in the #openSUSE-Factory channel on Freenode.
If you don’t have a Bugzilla account yet, you can sign up for one here. You know you want one! Sign up today!
By prioritizing the bugs, we can ensure that we’ve got the right bugs in our sights for the openSUSE 11.0 release.
Of course, you can help with bug voting at any time. There’s no need to wait for a bug day! Just roll up your sleeves and head over to the openSUSE Bugzilla and jump right in.
Questions or suggestions before the bug day? Drop me a note at zonker@opensuse.org.

Another Kind of open SUSE: Prague SUSE Office Opens its Doors
Monday, May 12th, 2008 by Andreas JaegerThe Novell/SUSE development offices in Prague, Czech Republic have on the 15th an event called “otevreneSUSE” which means “openSUSE” in Czech.
This event is for local people who are interested to experience how it is going in our Prague office, how developers look when they are working, what funny stuff we have done so far etc. This event is especially for people who are joining or thinking of joining the community - and like to get to talk live with some real persons that are working on openSUSE.
Detailed information are provided in Czech language only on http://www.suse.cz/akce/otevrenesuse08.html. If you need details in English or have further questions, please contact office@suse.cz.
